Psychotherapy &
Counselling in
Wiltshire

aim2 provides - psychotherapy and counselling in wiltshire - individual therapy for individuals, and also stress management training and anger management training in the UK.
Psychotherapy and Counselling are both so-called "talking therapies", although I like to call them "listening therapies". Feelings of hopelessness, confusion, loneliness, anger and fear can all have a direct effect on our lives, and especially our physical health and emotional well-being. For many reasons, it can be difficult, if not impossible, to find someone to talk to about these issues. This can further exacerbate those negative feelings and we start to feel we cannot cope. Change is necessary - but how?
"Steve was a great sounding board for me and helped immensely
when I had complex issues of a personal nature"
As a professional Psychotherapist and Counsellor I will listen without bias, without passing judgement, and will help you understand why you are feeling the way you are, and help you examine your thoughts, feelings and behaviours from different perspectives.
Psychotherapy and Counselling therapies are fully confidential, they can help you cope with a broad-range of issues - everyone's situation is unique - and they are delivered empathically and positively with complete focus on the client and the client's needs.

the difference between psychotherapy and counselling?
As an integrated psychotherapeutic counsellor who uses a variety of models and approaches - totally driven by the client's personality and needs - I tend not to differentiate between psychotherapy and counselling. However, to answer the question. I can say that psychotherapy is a more in-depth treatment aimed at uncovering deep issues from a client's past that are still controlling their current lives, either consciously or unconsciously. Counselling is often associated with immediacy - addressing the client's existing problems and how they are affected by them. I apply both counselling skills and psychotherapeutic approaches to all clients in greater or lesser degrees depending on their needs.
